The Utah Mentor Teacher Academy (UMTA) was started in 1986 and is coordinated through the Utah Personnel Development Center. The academy provides a way for educators to develop professionally in order to facilitate positive outcomes for all educators and students. Academy Outcomes: Increase participants’ mentor skill set so that they will: 1) make meaningful connections with effective practices and professionals, 2) make and maintain collaboration among colleagues, and 3) make greater contributions in their profession and organization.
