State Personnel Development Grant

What is SPDG?
SPDG is the State Personnel Development Grant, which is a federally funded grant, authorized by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). The purpose is to assist State educational agencies (SEAs) in reforming and improving their systems for personnel preparation and professional development in early intervention, educational and transition services in order to improve results for children with disabilities. Utah received the SPDG grant in 2007, which was a 5 year grant. Utah will apply again in 2012.

1- Evidenced based professional development
